Land Title Proceedings

In Barbados, many families live on what is commonly referred to as “family land,” passed down through generations without formal documentation. While this tradition has deep roots in Barbadian history, the absence of proper title deeds can make it challenging to sell land, use it as collateral, or transfer ownership legally. The Land Title Proceedings Act provides a legal pathway to resolve these issues and secure rightful ownership through a Certificate of Title. At Altus Chambers, we can assist you in obtaining a Declaration of Ownership and Certificate of Title to land if you meet the requirements under the Land (Title Proceedings) Act, Barbados.
